Red Is Not A Colour

‘Red is not a Colour’ examines the economy of red roses in Bangalore around Valentine’s Day. The roses are priced based on the length of the stem, colour, type and quality. For the export market, prices soar a few days before the big day as these flowers are flown to different destinations. Flowers are traded at the International Flower Auction, Bangalore. As flowers of lower quality enter the domestic market we find that red roses cost way more than any type or hue of flower.
